Its Ganehsa's Chaturthi (Fourth). Ganesha is brought home for several days....The number of days vary in each household. Not every household maintains this. That is the diversity of Hinduism. This was not a popular festival in Delhi. But now it is. Many from Central India where it was a big festival have migrated to other parts of India. And we get the joy.
New Projects are started this day, for Ganesha blesses all new ventures and removes obstacles. And guess what, Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated with great pomp and show in Ghana, Africa (click here to read about it).
Ganesha's form has a story and is a metaphor for patience, prosperity and new beginnings.
Watch a few celebrations here # 1. in Hindi but visually appealing, 2020
After honoring Him, feeding him...taking care of him. Idols, are taken back to the sea, rivers, ocean.....whatever is close. So that the forms that we created return back to the vast and the formless.
