Jennifer

There is little danger in getting some names and dates tattooed on your body!!  August, 2010.

Because I am slightly 'off' slightly 'crazy' and because I live an unusual life, I have developed a habit of 'meaningful small talk'.  It is small talk, not deep, not related to employment or with an intent of any long term friendship.  But it comes from an interest in people.  To acknowledge their presence.  To ask them questions, to make them feel noticed.  It is meaningful in a sense that I am sure most of the people, I engage in this 'meaningful small talk' with, are actually very grateful that someone noticed.

Someone asked.

And in return, I have heard my self say so many times, 'this will make a great movie, an excellent short story.'

So the above picture has a story too.  This can be easily woven into a movie, or written as a short story. The guys came to deliver the furniture I had bought at the second hand shop.  A dinning table and four chairs.  The second thing I bought.  The first one being a side table, with a flower-like top.

I noticed the tattoo on the short guy's forearm right away.  Just before they were about to leave, I asked,

'So, who is she?"

"Ah" he said with pride, extending his arm, 'My daughter.'

I chuckled and raised my eyebrows in wonder.  I asked him if I could take a picture.

'Because girlfriends and wives can leave you, but your daughters are always there for you.' he said with surety.

How could I not smile? and think...

Jennifer, you are a  lucky girl.....
