Its the birthday of one of our beloved Gods, Lord Rama. RamRajya--the term used for near utopia, comes from his rule. He served with purity, nobility and humility.
He served, not ruled. Like do our Gods.
This is also the day when young prepubescent girls are honoured as life provider of this universe. They are given gifts, food and money--a reminder that there is no world without the feminine.
